We're seeking a senior developer specialized in healthcare interoperability to help our clients build and maintain robust, standards-compliant healthcare data systems. This position combines deep technical expertise in healthcare data standards with strong full-stack development capabilities.

Note that while we are seeking healthcare specialists, not all our projects are in healthcare, so you may work in other fields from time to time.

Your work will consist of:

• Building healthcare integration solutions — implementing FHIR APIs, HL7 interfaces, and EHR integrations for our clients' software products. Delivering high-quality code that adheres to healthcare data standards and security requirements.
• Product development — gathering requirements, talking to stakeholders, developing features, and making improvements to our clients’ software products. Delivering high-quality code, including frontend and backend, infrastructure, data, and more.
• Tooling — Improving platform tooling for your project(s), through building CI/CD pipelines, test suites, and more. Making best use of AI coding assistants, in accordance with project constraints.
• On some projects, technical project management — planning and coordinating deliverables, scope, timelines and budgets for a project team; working closely with clients and internal interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful and high quality delivery.
• Supporting the team — Bringing process and tooling suggestions to your teammates, mentoring more junior colleagues, presenting internally, participating in interviews, and contributing to internal tooling projects from time to time.

About you

We are seeking developers with strong software engineering fundamentals and specialist knowledge in healthcare interoperability. While we use various technologies, our healthcare projects typically involve TypeScript, Node.js, and Python, often deployed on AWS.

We want you to apply if you:

• Have 5+ years of experience as a software developer, with at least 2 years focused on healthcare.
• Have hands-on experience implementing FHIR APIs and HL7 interfaces, including experience with common healthcare integration engines and FHIR servers.
• Are well-versed in healthcare data security requirements and standards like HIPAA.
• Have excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical problems to both technical and clinical stakeholders.
• Are adaptable, self-motivated, and thrive in fast-moving environments.
• Have experience integrating with major EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience with healthcare terminology services and standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm).
• Have worked on projects involving clinical decision support or population health analytics.
• Have contributed to healthcare open source projects or standards development.
