Why this role

We’re building a unified experience across mobile, web, and desktop using React Native Expo, and Electron. As our Lead Frontend Engineer, you’ll architect and deliver a performant, consistent UI across iOS, Android, browsers, and desktop apps (Windows Store & macOS). This role combines mobile expertise with cross platform engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture for multi‑platform delivery:
  • React Native Expo targeting Web, iOS and Android
  • Desktop applications via Electron: Wrap RN Web app in Electron, integrate native OS features, and prepare for Windows Store/macOS distribution.
• Design and implement reusable components that work seamlessly across mobile, web, and desktop.
• Performance optimization for all platforms: mobile (Hermes, animations), web (SSR, hydration), desktop (Electron memory footprint).
• Own GraphQL integration strategy:
  • Implement efficient GraphQL queries and mutations
  • Optimize caching and state management using Apollo Client
  • Ensure schema evolution and type safety with TypeScript.
• Release engineering:
  • Mobile: EAS Build/Submit, OTA updates via EAS Update.
  • Web: CI/CD for RN Web deployment in collaboration with DevOps
  • Desktop: Electron packaging, code signing, and store submission workflows.
• Cross functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Backend to ensure feature parity across platforms.
• Mentor engineers on multi‑platform best practices and Expo/Electron workflows.
• Feature Flagging implement feature flags to hide complex features from mobile viewport
• Security & compliance: sandboxing for Electron, secure storage, and adherence to app store guidelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in frontend/mobile engineering, with React Native Expo expertise and cross platform experience.
• Strong knowledge of React Native Web and responsive design principles.
• Hands-on experience with Electron: packaging, auto updates, OS integrations, and store submission.
• Proven experience with GraphQL:
  • Designing and consuming GraphQL APIs.
  • Optimizing queries and caching strategies (Apollo Client)
  • Handling schema evolution and type safety with TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Expo EAS workflows and OTA update strategies.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, modern React patterns, and state management libraries.
• Understanding performance profiling across mobile, web, and desktop environments.
• Experience working in Scrum teams

Nice to have

• Knowledge of native desktop APIs(notifications, file system access).
• Prior work on apps distributed via Windows Store and Mac App Store.
